BlogRush Reveals WordPress Blogging Buddy

BlogRush helped me find a WordPress blogging buddy, not that he was lost.
I mentioned the other day that the Internet seems a small place at times.
As I was BlogRushing last week, I spotted a comment to an interesting article. The unusual name reminded me of a blogger who had helped me with a WordPress blog in the past. Sure enough, a click on his name revealed my old buddy.
As you know, I love BlogRush because it makes networking amongst like-minded bloggers very easy. I call these new friends my BlogRush Buddies.
But this is a story more about blogging buddies than BlogRush. Or is it?
New Blog Writer Hits The Spot
Yesterday I quoted a new blog writer - Dave.
Sorry, Dave, I forgot to mention your blog.
Let me do it now.
Dave describes Music and Sports Equal Life as:
A blog about all things related to sports and music. The two greatest things on Earth
Forgive me Dave, but I think the greatest two things in life are wine, women and song. A sufficiency of which, render counting difficult.
I love Dave’s blog because it is a personal mix. None of this SEO rubbish that says stick to one topic and max your niche. It’s back to real blogging, and all the better for it. Personally, I’m not particularly bothered about sport, but I love music.
I also love it because he mentioned Annie Lennox’s new album. Now there’s a singer if ever there was one. I got the video player widget from Annie’s site. In true John Reese tradition, this is not an affiliate link. I do not get anything if you buy through the widget.
Is my color control playing up, or is there a BlogRush orange theme to her video?
Personal Blog Plea: BlogRush I’m Too Young To Die

This is my personal blog plea for help.
I share the concerns of a recent BlogRush commenter:
What constitutes a new blog? Is it based upon how long the blog has been around or hte number of posts? I started a blog a little less than a month ago, but since I updated the blog on average every other day I have about 12 or 13 posts (I’ve used the Widget since day one). Since I have a decent amount of posts will I not be banned or is only being 3 to 4 weeks old not old enough to keep the widget?
I’m even younger, but I’m trying my bestest. Mummy and Daddy have dressed me in lovely BlogRush orange.
Please Mr BlogRush, let me live. Don’t phase me out. Let me grow in your image that I may worship and adore you.
Don’t let me die.

Top blogs are never interesting every post. Bloggers wander off topic, add personal asides, boring explanations etc.
I am amazed by the number of blogs that I have seen wanting to game the system. Create separate feeds for best posts, or use various techniques to stop things being syndicated by BlogRush.
Why don’t they just stop being boring?
I might highlight some of these idiots later, but only if it helps weed them out and get them banned.
Perhaps it is better just to block them from my site using the proper method - the BlogRush control panel. I do not want to give them more publicity, but I would like to pass the word round so everyone can ban them.
Anybody got any ideas on a good way to do this?

My first BlogRush Buddy nomination includes something to help you create a blog.
It helped me find 22 tips for things to do after setting up a new blog.
From the look of the site, I think I will find more.
First let me tell you about the BlogRush Buddy nomination.
Shrewdy, from a new site that gives technical tips for business web hosting, told me how he’d been BlogRushed by a related blogging help and advice site.
This is what he had to say:
I’ve just been BlogRushed by this great site - www.marcofolio.net.
At first, I wasn’t sure what the site was about, but after I’d read a couple of articles, it didn’t matter.
It’s a great personal blog that must be in the same category as me, Computers and Internet, but it’s got so much more that gives it a unique slant.
There are some fantastic pictures culled from the net, and a great article about Spam - including the best Spam video clip ever (reminds me of a misspent youth).
Highly recommended, and definitely one to subscribe to.
